Aśvagandha, also known as Indian ginseng, literally means “smell or essence of horse,” and evokes the strength of this animal. It is a traditional adaptogenic plant of Ayurveda medicine. Its main function is to regulate the nervous system. It is tranquilizing and, as its name indicates (“sleeping”). Being adaptogenic, it works depending on each person’s system. In case of fatigue, brain activity increases. It is also used to rest and sleep well.
