Aphrodisiac recipes for Valentine’s Day

Today we present two aphrodisiac recipes for Valentine’s Day that are not only delicious and easy to make but also help boost your sexual desire.

As you might imagine the diet we follow also plays a crucial role. Certain foods support a healthy libido thanks to their mineral and vitamin content, which helps balance hormones like estrogen and testosterone.

Before sharing our first recipe, it’s important to know that some foods and substances can severely harm your libido.

Aphrodisiac recipes for Valentine’s Day

Foods that Decrease Libido

These foods negatively affect hormone production and have an acidic and harmful effect on our overall health.

  • The number one enemy is sugar, as it lowers libido and has a negative impact on sexual desire. It causes resistance to a hormone called leptin, which is key in sexual response. On top of that, it reduces testosterone and growth hormone (GH) levels. Refined White flours also negatively impact libido.
  • The second enemy is alcohol, as well as cola drinks.

Aphrodite’s Chocolate-Covered Strawberries

Ingredients:

  • Strawberries, as many as you like. I recommend organic ones, as strawberries are among the most pesticide-laden fruits.
  • Dark chocolate (at least 72% cocoa), preferably organic, for melting.

Did you know that strawberries directly stimulate the endocrine glands of the nervous system responsible for producing hormones in our blood? Strawberries are rich in alkaline minerals like potassium and magnesium, as well as vitamins C and E, which are essential for proper hormone production and the healthy functioning of reproductive organs.

Cocoa is also considered a classic aphrodisiac due to its magnesium and zinc content, with zinc being essential for the release of sexual hormones and the balance of the pituitary/gonadal axis.

Zinc improves fertility in both women and men and is essential for producing testosterone, a key hormone for a healthy libido.

Preparation:

  1. Wash and slice the strawberries horizontally into two halves, making sure the bottom half is larger, as we’ll use the top part with the stem as a lid.
  2. Slightly hollow out the interior of the strawberries.
  3. Place the strawberries upright in an ice cube tray (one strawberry per slot).
  4. Melt the chocolate and fill the inside of the strawberries, placing the top back on as a lid.
  5. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  6. After removing from the fridge, dip the bottom two-thirds of the strawberries in the remaining melted chocolate.
  7. Place them on a tray, refrigerate for another 10 minutes, and serve.

For decoration, you can add fresh mint sprigs to the tray. Mint and chocolate are a perfect pairing.

As you can see, it couldn’t be simpler. It’s delicious, easy to make and most importantly, it will make your romantic encounters even more exciting.

Smoothie erótico con fresas y maca andina

For this second recipe, I’ve also chosen strawberries because they stimulate the endocrine glands responsible for producing hormones.

In addition, strawberries are rich in alkaline minerals like potassium and magnesium, which help boost hormone production. They also contain vitamin E, which supports the healthy functioning of sexual organs and vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that fights free radicals and provides energy.

Maca is a tuber that increases fertility and helps balance female hormones. It has also been shown to improve libido in both men and women due to its stimulating effect, with some calling it “nature’s Viagra.”

Maca is a natural, healthy aphrodisiac that also boosts energy and helps reduce stress and fatigue.

Ingredients:

  • 7 or 8 washed strawberries.
  • 1 unsweetened plant-based yogurt (coconut or soy).
  • 1 teaspoon of powdered Andean maca.
  • 1 teaspoon of raw cocoa powder.
  • A little ice.
  • To sweeten, you can use stevia, homemade date syrup, or a bit of raw honey. Never use sugar.
  • A glass jar.

Preparation:

  1. After washing the strawberries, cut them into pieces and add them to a medium bowl.
  2. Pour the yogurt into the bowl.
  3. Add the maca and cocoa powder.
  4. Add your chosen sweetener.
  5. Blend everything thoroughly until you achieve a thick, smooth consistency. You can use a hand blender or a standard blender for this.
  6. Pour the mixture into a glass jar and sprinkle the remaining raw cocoa on top.
  7. Lastly, garnish with a strawberry.

*Homemade Date Syrup:* Soak 3 or 4 Medjool dates (other varieties work too) in water for at least two hours. Drain, remove the pits, return them to the water, and blend until you achieve a creamy consistency. And voilà, you have your healthy, delicious sweetener.

And your smoothie is ready to be served. It’s the perfect drink to start a romantic day!
