One of its main ingredients, spinach, is a highly alkaline leafy green loaded with minerals such as iron, magnesium, and potassium. It contains essential phytonutrients, plenty of fiber, vitamins C, A, and E, carotenoids, folic acid, B-complex vitamins, and a high amount of chlorophyll

Sweet potato is a highly antioxidant tuber rich in healthy carbohydrates with a relatively low glycemic index. It contains the amino acid methionine, vitamins A and E, phytosterols, fiber, and magnesium.

In addition to these ingredients, this recipe also includes cilantro, an aromatic herb with anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, diuretic, and heavy metal chelating properties.      It is also high in vitamins C and K. Here you are a recipe to eliminate heavy metals

Finally, we will add 1 or 2 scoops of Alkaline 16 Greens—a low-temperature dehydrated super green food, rich in vitamins, minerals, and enzymes—to enhance both the flavor and nutritional power of this dish.

Ingredients:

  • 50g of raw baby spinach
  • 50g of arugula
  • 1 whole medium-sized sweet potato, peeled and diced (not too small). If unavailable, you can substitute it with pumpkin.
  • 2 shallots, thinly sliced
  • 6 pieces of sun-dried tomato, pre-hydrated and chopped. You can also find them pre-hydrated in glass jars preserved in olive oil.
  • 1 handful of raw cashews
  • 1 handful of fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 medium Granny Smith apple, thinly sliced. If organic, keep the skin on for its high pectin and fiber content.
  • 1 or 2 scoops of Alkaline 16 Greens to add nutritional density, flavor, and aroma.

Dressing Ingredients:

  • 2 or 3 heaping tablespoons of tahini (ground sesame paste)
  • Juice of 1 or ½ lemon (depending on the desired quantity)
  • A drizzle of extra virgin olive oil
  • A small pinch of sea salt to taste

Preparation:

You will need a large bowl for the salad. Mix all the pre-chopped ingredients in the bowl. Then, in a small bowl, mix the dressing ingredients until a smooth and homogeneous sauce is formed. Pour the dressing over the salad and mix well.

Finally, sprinkle 1 or 2 scoops of  Alkaline 16 Greens  as a topping. Besides all the previously mentioned benefits, it will add a beautiful and unique finishing touch to your winter salad.

And it’s ready to serve! Enjoy this Alkaline winter recipe with spinach and sweet potato
