In today’s post we want to share with you the recipe for a super alkalizing juice. Enjoy this alkalizing celery and cucumber juice!
Alkalizing celery and cucumber juice
This drink is, therefore, a perfect help in those moments when we want to purify the body:
Ingredients
- 1 large bunch of celery with leaves included
- 2 cucumbers
- 1 small piece of fresh ginger (about 2cm)
- 1 handful of sprouted sunflower sprouts
- We recommend adding between 3 and 4 drops of PuripHy to raise the pH of the smoothie water
Preparation
Chop the vegetables and place them in the juice press to squeeze out all their juice. You can use both the juice press and the blender, but if you use the blender, the sprouted sunflower sprouts will be served as accompaniments (instead of blended together with the rest of the ingredients). Serve and consume as soon as possible, since this is when it contains the most vitamins, enzymes and energy intake.
Benefits of alkalizing celery and cucumber juice
It is no coincidence that this is the star drink at the American Institute of Hippocrates, since in addition to being excellent for quenching thirst, it also contains a high amount of minerals and helps cleanse the body.
The main benefit of celery is that it purifies the blood. The balance of the acid-alkaline level of the blood becomes unbalanced when most of our diet is based on animal protein, refined foods or there is an excess intake of refined sugar. Celery juice quickly re-balances the acid-alkaline level of the blood, helping us stay healthy and prevent diseases.
This vegetable has many other therapeutic effects that are manifested especially by consuming it raw, such as its high content of organic sodium, which favors the absorption of calcium.
As for cucumber, the other main ingredient in this drink, it should be noted that 95% of its content is water. This makes it a super hydrating food that also contains a large amount of antioxidants, including lignans. These polyphenols are normally associated more with green leafy vegetables, but their content in other vegetables such as cucumber has been gaining prominence. In the case of cucumber, there are many studies on the three lignans present in it (lariciresinol, pinoresinol, and secaisolariciresinol) that relate them to a lower risk of suffering from cardiovascular diseases and various types of cancer.
Cucumber is also rich in vitamin K and C, and to a lesser extent vitamin A and group B. In addition, it contains the following alkalizing minerals: calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, selenium, copper, manganese and zinc.
