In today’s article, we share the properties of tulsi (or holy basil), a very aromatic herb with multiple revitalizing and detoxifying benefits. Enjoy this detox infusion of tulsi and cardamom.

Benefits of Tulsi

Tulsi (or holy basil) is a perennial aromatic plant from the Lamiaceae family, native to India. In classical Ayurvedic medicine, this herb is classified as *rasayana* as it promotes health and longevity. The infusion we are talking about today has been prepared for over 3,000 years, as it was believed to help balance the body’s energy centers called chakras. Tulsi is cultivated for religious reasons and has fabulous detoxifying and anti-aging properties.

It is an energizing herb with a delicious flavor, suitable for even the most discerning palates. Tulsi is also rich in antioxidants and acts as a powerful cleanser. It helps regulate the adrenal glands, making it an excellent anti-stress tonic. Additionally, it contains high levels of essential fatty acids, alpha-linolenic acid, with anti-inflammatory properties.

In India, tulsi is referred to as the elixir of life and can be found in all Ashrams and temples. Nowadays, it can also be easily found in our country.
