Melon and mint smoothie

During the summer, with the heat, everything changes for us: our physical rhythm slows down, we get more tired, it is harder for us to think… Come on, we need vacations! When we sweat more, we have a greater tendency to become dehydrated and lose minerals, basic electrolytes that we must replace no matter what. Here are some tips that will help you feel good from the inside out this summer. Today I share an alkaline melon and mint smoothie recipe, ultra simple, delicious and very easy to prepare that the whole family likes.

Melon is a very refreshing fruit rich in water and vitamins A, B, C and E, folic acid and fiber. In addition, it contains minerals such as iron, calcium and potassium. It is highly moisturizing and by containing antioxidants such as vitamin E, it helps prevent cardiovascular diseases and takes care of the skin, preventing early aging. Melon is diuretic and prevents fluid retention. It has a low glycemic index, making it ideal for people who suffer from gout, rheumatism and kidney pathologies.

Fresh mint has stimulating properties, it is carminative and antiseptic. Relieves digestive disorders, reduces inflammation, helps eliminate gas and fights bad breath.

This Smoothie also contains apples that, in addition to being delicious, are highly cleansing and beneficial for health as they relieve constipation and strengthen the immune system and brain function. It is a recipe that everyone can have and at any time of the day.

Ingredients:

Preparation:

  • Peel the apples, remove the core and cut into small pieces and set aside.
  • Cut the melon in 2, remove the seeds and peel.
  • Chop the melon pulp into medium cubes and set aside.
  • Place the apples and melon in the mixing bowl and blend for 2 minutes. The result will depend on how we like it, that is, well crushed and homogeneous or with some small pieces of pulp.
  • Add the mint leaves or slightly chopped.
  • Add ice cubes to the blender glass.
  • Crush the ice in the blender for 2 or 3 minutes until it forms a slushie.
  • Serve in large glasses or glasses and garnished with mint leaves.
  • As a final touch, we add 3 drops of liquid chlorophyll to each glass to beautify it and enhance its healthy effect.

As I mentioned before, this drink is ideal to drink during the summer since the refreshing effect of the melon and mint allows you to hydrate the body in a very healthy way.
