Discover the precursors of chlorophyll

In today’s article, we explore the relationship between chlorophyll, glutathione (a powerful antioxidant), folic acid, and vitamin B12. Discover the precursors of chlorophyll.

Discover the precursors of chlorophyll

Glutathione

The chlorophyll molecule is a precursor to endogenous glutathione, meaning that  it is produced by the body itself in the liver. A precursor to glutathione refers to any molecule from which glutathione can be derived, directly or indirectly. Glutathione is the body’s primary internal antioxidant, that protects us from metabolic diseases and cognitive decline. Additionally, it plays a role in:

  • Cellular detoxification
  • Transport of vitamins and minerals
  • Immune system regulation and antioxidant protection
  • The ability to bind to toxins and free radicals, neutralizing them.

Folic Acid and Vitamin B12

Chlorophyll also contains vitamins A, C, E, K, iron, and folic acid. This biomolecule is also an important source of magnesium, which forms the core of its cellular structure. Folic acid (vitamin B9) is essential for cell renewal and necessary for everyone.

Folic acid is particularly important for women of childbearing age, pregnant women, and for the formation of the baby’s brain and spinal cord.

Folic acid (B9) and vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) always work together because they are complementary; they are the brain vitamins (neuroprotective). They are indispensable for cell division, red blood cell maturation, and DNA replication. Therefore, for vitamin B12 to function properly, it must work alongside folic acid to help the body break down, utilize, and create new proteins.

How to Increase Endogenous Glutathione and Folic Acid Levels in the Body

With an Alkaline Diet

The benefits of an alkaline diet are numerous, as it is rich in vegetables, leafy greens (folic acid), fruits, healthy fats, and quality proteins. The alkaline diet contains many vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, and chlorophyll, a precursor to glutathione. You can find glutathione in alkaline foods such as broccoli, cauliflower, garlic, onions, avocado, spinach, watermelon, grapefruit, asparagus, strawberries, pumpkin, nuts, garlic, and tomatoes.

Take Chlorophyll

Liquid chlorophyll will help you maintain your natural alkaline design. Additionally, it helps deliver oxigen and reduce inflammation, eliminates toxins and heavy metals, and enhances endogenous glutathione.

Because it contains folic acid, it works in tandem with vitamin B12, promoting optimal hemoglobin production. If you mix it in alkaline water, its absorption is even greater.

How to Take Liquid Chlorophyll: Add 15 to 30 drops to 1 liter of alkaline water.
