This alkaline recipe contains broccoli, which is packed with key phytochemicals that support good memory, particularly “sulforaphane,” which also protects against oxidative stress and brain inflammation. Broccoli also contains “kaempferol,” a powerful antioxidant that protects neurons.

Including spinach is essential as it contains flavonoids that help reverse neuronal aging. When combined with blueberries, which are rich in anthocyanins it will help reduce age-related neuronal deficits and enhance muscarinic brain sensitivity, which helps prevent cognitive decline.

 

Of course, we can’t forget avocado, a source of healthy fats like “oleic acid” and minerals such as potassium. In addition to being delicious and giving the smoothie a creamy texture, avocado helps improve mitochondrial brain function. It’s also rich in antioxidants, carotenoids, tocopherols, vitamins, and chlorophyll.

Recipe:

  • 1 large cup of fresh blueberries (you can also use frozen blueberries).
  • 1 tablespoon of pumpkin seeds (they contain tryptophan, which helps improve sleep).
  • 1 half chopped  banana (rich in potassium).
  • ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder (a powerful anti-inflammatory).
  • 1 or 2 stalks of raw broccoli.
  • 1 large cup of raw spinach.
  • 1 medium avocado.
  • 1 or 2 cups of almond milk (contains minerals and is alkalizing).

Preparation:

Add all ingredients to a blender, the more powerful, the better. Blend until smooth and fully liquefied. Serve and enjoy!

Pro tip:
